Another Bregg Text: It's Been A While

I got this gem from Bregg this afternoon. It's been a while since he text last, I thought perhaps he had taken me off his list or deleted me or something. *DEEP sigh* I should really get it through my head, I'm on his list FOR-EH-VER.

Just a refresher, this guy sent several ridiculous texts to me over the summer. Click here, here, here, and here if you'd like a reminder. This is also the guy who was in a severe car accident and now has a few nuts and bolts loose upstairs, still he's over 8 and totally accountable for himself.

"Yeah! - What a beautiful reminder of the Christ Child who gave all of us more love than can even be understood by anyone. Isn't He the definition of the root of love? We're all in the same family He's in. "

His texts are getting better. At least this one makes sense grammatically, although I don't understand the "yeah" at the beginning. Nor do I understand what the beautiful reminder of the Christ Child is. Is he looking at something? Was it supposed to include a picture in the text?

What's your vote for a response?
1. Unsubscribe - Funny but could be passed over without getting the hint.
2. Please delete my number from your phone - direct and brutal.

Gay Date

I don't believe I am a homophobe. There are some people I know (read Chad Coleman) that will be some immensely uncomfortable with any same-gender interaction they'd rather make a scene to leave.

A girl friend of mine offered a free ticket to the Fiddler on the Roof show at the Hale Center and I accepted happily. When we stopped for dinner before the show I became acutely aware that I looked like I was on a date.

She didn't buy my dinner and I didn't buy hers but the fact that it was just the two of us made me wonder if people thought I was. It's not like I acted any different but I was curious if people were able to see we're just two friends eating at the same time.

{As a funny side note, this topic always helps me remember the capital of Portugal. Lisbon. I always have to say "Lesbian, Lez-benon, Lisbon." No joke. Any word parodies you'd like to share?}

What Family Means to Me

Family means you love being together
And you pose in crazy ways, in crazy clothes, for the crazy birthday party without whining about it.
Can I just point out the awesomeness of some of these outfits. Dad's Peruvian bright pink vest, Megan's pope hat, Mom's apron worn as a cape, Janene's goggles, Debbie's plantation hat, Ben's inside-out hat over his eyes, and Geoff's belt over the shirt look. Absolutely fabulous.

Ladies, I am starting my last year of 20s. I am officially 29! How did this happen? I'm not sure exactly when this happened but I'm embracing it. I have decided for my 30th I am doing something ridiculous, like hang gliding or car racing. But that's next year.

My mom loves a good theme party. Growing up my sister and I had themed birthday parties and Christmases every year - Barbie, bears, tea party, runway/dress up, princess, My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, the list goes on and on. This year I decided a "Crazy" party was in order. Crazy hair, crazy clothes, crazy games... The nieces and nephew were SO excited.

This is possibly one of my favorite pictures: Debbie looks like a plantation owner and that's her little slave girl.

Dinner was meatloaf and salad, nothing too weird. Mom was going to go crazy on the crazy idea and have people eating with spatulas and chopsticks but I thought we should limit the craziness - there's plenty of that to go around in the Dietrich family. The kids were in charge of the center piece, which included the silo from the Fisher-Price barn set, the zebra flashlight, Backyardigans ball, the syrup from the play kitchen, and the helicopter shooter thing. Quite crazy.

After dinner we had a crazy game that was entirely Ben's idea. This boy is a hoot, he used to be pretty quiet but he is coming into his own now. The game: Pin the Nose on Becka. What a riot! We had wart noses, beaks, an elephant trunk, a ski jump, button, piggy, and few other odd ones.

The final result:
I'm just as lovely in person

After the game I opened presents. I had gone shopping with Mom and Dad a few days before and knew exactly what I was getting, but I still like opening presents. I got some new work clothes that I just LOVE! A couple button up shirts, a vest, and some pants from Express.
Don't look too closely at the hair or makeup, I'm still in costume.

I thought I looked pretty cute

It was a fantastic party with my even more fantastic family. 29 wasn't so bad. The best part is when people heard it was my birthday they said "oh you turned 23?" I think a few of them might have been serious. I'll accept it even if it was a lie.

My second party was on my actual birthday, we had ward temple night and I had everyone over to the house after for cake, cookies, and ice cream that my mom put together. Can I just tell you how wonderful that lady is. She wanted to make it so nice and special even though it made her beyond exhausted. What a perfect example of charity and love.

Then my last party (seriously, who gets three parties for their birthday? I am so spoiled) my good friends Stephanie and Connie had a pulled pork dinner that was just out of this world. The best pulled pork I've had in a long time. We played Boxers or Briefs and spent the rest of the evening watching Michael Jackson music videos for some reason. I tried to get a dance party going but ended up being the only one shaking it. Oh well.

This was the best birthday week ever. All birthdays should last this long.

Jazz Game

Last week a few girls in the ward and I went to a Jazz game. We had dinner at the Olive Garden downtown which was just fabulous. Those sinful bread sticks will be the end of me.
[Stephanie, Sharon, and Connie walking to the trax station]

We didn't want to pay for parking so we parked further away and rode the Trax in. This was my first time on the Trax and I think this was one of the best events of the evening - I was so excited. I've gone on trains in Chicago, New York, London, Paris, etc. but for some reason the Trax was ridiculously thrilling.
[this girl is way to excited]

On the Trax

We got to the game and had a great time. The half-time show was this group of older women who tap dance and do hip-hop [hopefully without breaking a hip]. They spotlighted the oldest lady who was 93. She did her little solo and jumped and landed in the splits. The entire Delta Center was screaming cheers and shocked gasps. I really wish I had video taped it. It was incredible.

The game was great, we won. I believe the Jazz are on a 8-game winning streak. Stephanie was cheering for Portland since she is from Oregon and the drunkards behind us were giving her a hard time about it. All in all, a great time with some great girls!

Cursed Blog

I've decided I will no longer blog about men I am interested in. I believe my blog is cursed.

Teddy decided he couldn't get past my divorce and didn't see the relationship progressing so he cut it off. Ah yes, thank you again Adam for continuing to ruin good things in my life.

Upon further reflection I realized it is possible he could have seen something he didn't like in me and it's just easier to say "because of the divorce" than "you had boogers in your nose all night and I wanted to puke" or "you smell like feet" or "your laugh gave me a mind-numbing headache". I don't know what the real reasoning was but I accept it the excuse at face value.

Oh well, on to the next one.

Nothing else is new. I am going to die before this winter will stop though, I'm thinking a beach somewhere is calling my name. It's just a whisper right now so I can't tell where it's coming from, but I hear it. Does anyone else hear it?
